My Quarantine-hobbies

I have been reading for thirty minutes every day with my twelve and fourteen year old grandsons, Zachary and Dylan, ever since the quarantine began four months ago. It has become a wonderful time to share for us all. I recently decided to paint some of the scenes of people in the books we are reading, and here is one I just completed of Dickon, my favorite character from The Secret Garden which I am reading with Zachary. It is so much fun to share one of his required summer reading selections which I loved when I was his age. Both Dylan and Zachary have already completed eight books with me even though neither of them are avid readers on their own. I will be a little sad when times return to normal if we have to give up this special time, but it has been a special time I will always cherish and never forget!

What are some ways you have connected with children during this time of quarantine?
